Valentine's Day is always a special
celebration, but this one in 2023 was truly unique. It is a day that Scuderia
Ferrari fans will probably never forget. At around 12:00, the challenger of the
brand from Maranello was unveiled and is called SF-23. SF stands for Scuderia
Ferrari and 23 refers to its launch year. The car features a special livery, a
matt red colour designed by Ferrari Design, exposed carbon parts, and the
historic 'long F' logo on the rear wing. The successor to the F1-75 is the 69th
car produced by Ferrari in the top class of motor racing.
The day was full of excitement and
surprises for the 500 fans who turned out to watch the launch, with the
crowning moment being the two cars hitting the track. Following a coin flip by Team Principal Fred
Vasseur, Charles was chosen to drive the SF-23 first for two laps, while Carlos
had his turn shortly after.
It will make its first racing
appearance on 5 March at the Bahrain Grand Prix. In 2022 at the same opening
race, Ferrari started the season in the best possible way, with a Charles
Leclerc P1 and Carlos Sainz Jr. P2.
